ZEYNEP BUYUKBAYRAK
Zeynep Büyükbayrak is the founder and creative director of Ping Pong Barcelona.
After completing her studies in art direction and multimedia production in Milan, she returned to her hometown of Istanbul in 2000 and co-established a creative studio called Lab 34, where they primarily co-operated with music production and event organization companies.
Immersed in the music industry as a concept designer, she diversified her expertise, delving into various facets such as event organization, sponsorship relations and production of branded merchandise.
In 2005, she launched Pag, a design agency and concept store, fostering collaborations with artists and illustrators to craft a diverse array of paper and textile products. During this period, she also established partnerships with museum shops, including Istanbul Modern, Salt, and MoMa. After antagonizing radical Islamists with a deck of playing cards and others with a political t-shirt brand called Repunation, she relocated to Barcelona in search of new opportunities to stir up trouble and founded Ping Pong Barcelona. A playground where artists and designers from different disciplines meet local brands to celebrate the vibrant spirit of Barcelona.
Beyond her career as a ping pong player, Zeynep is immersed in the artistry of clay manipulation and has an obsession for peculiar objects.
